Development tendencies in web design 2022
Developments in web design 2022
The goal of every web designer is to offer the visitor to a website the best possible user experience. With websites it is like many other things, it is a matter of handicap and there is an argument about what makes a good website. However, as in fashion, there are always trends in web design that prevail for a certain period of time. The possible trends for the coming year 2022 are shown in the following article.
Responsive web design
One trend that is influenced by the usage behavior of website visitors is responsive design or the responsive logo. In the case of progressive websites, the company’s logo is not simply inserted in a smaller format, but in a responsive manner. This means that the logo changes in terms of size, color and complexity and is adapted to the medium (tablet, smartphone, desktop) through which the website is accessed.
Dynamic content
In addition to the trend of responsive design, animations and moving content are also gaining ground. On the one hand, this can be a headline that suddenly appears out of nowhere and, on the other hand, graphics or images that are animated by scrolling.
The trend of paralllex scrolling goes hand in hand with the trend of dynamic content. This visual effect enables the individual elements of the website to move at different speeds as soon as the user scrolls. This creates an optical depth of the picture. The problem with this trend is that it can lead to problems when accessing the website via mobile devices. This diminishes the user experience.
Dark mode as a protective function
The next trend is actually not a trend for 2022 but a function that has already been established in recent years. The dark mode or dark mode is already used in navigation devices. Internet giants such as Google and Facebook also make this function available to their users.
The dark mode not only protects the eyes of the user but also the battery and the OLED display of the device. The display is protected by the fact that only those pixels light up which must also display a color. Since most of the display’s pixels are black in dark mode, they do not have to light up. In addition, with every element that does not light up, the battery life is extended because less electricity is used.
Dark mode is to be advocated for a user-friendly website. Because the user experience increases when the user can decide whether the website should be displayed in light or dark.
Improve the Google ranking with micro-interactions
Web design is increasingly focused on user experience . If the user experience is improved, this also has a positive effect on the Google ranking. In order to improve the user experience, interaction options must be created on the website.
Micro-interactions have already become established. These interactions should help the user to orientate himself on the website. The micro-interactions include, for example, the mouse cursor, which turns into a hand as soon as an element can be clicked, or loading spinners and percentages for uploads and downloads.
As in fashion, so also in web design: trends come and go. Some go faster, others manage to establish themselves at least for a while.
